SAINT LUCIA HOSTS MEETING OF CARIBBEAN FRANCOPHONIE INSTITUTIONS

The Caribbean Network of Francophonie Institutions has cited the language barrier as one of the problems affecting the organization. To this end the organization is holding a meeting here to discuss this and other issues.
Wednesday saw the official opening of a three day meeting of the regional network of francophonie institutions which brings together three full member states namely Dominica St. Lucia and Haiti. The purpose was to discuss strategies and their impacts on member states
The National Correspondent for Francophonie Marcia Symphorien says operating as a block can have a greater impact on how programs can be developed as a region. In St. Lucia one of the impeding issues is the language barrier. This can have a negative effect on access to funding and participating at high level meetings
The three day meeting is taking place at the Auberge Seraphine hotel
