Visiting the Market and Going to Haiti. We visited the Haitian market on the Dominican side of the border with Haiti in Pedernales. We ended up paying a small fee to the border agents on each side, plus a “guide” to walk us through the town of Anse-A-Pitres in Haiti. This was a first, as we’ve never walked across the border without a passport or any documentation. We went over with about $20USD and spent every penny of it paying to get our way back into the Dominican Republic.
