Where have we been? Well, we’ve been traveling and things have been a bit busy, what with losing a passport and all. 🙁

We were in Spain when Josh’s passport when missing. Thanks to the support and help from great people in our hotel (La MaQuinista), the police station, the airport, and our school back in Belarus. Our organization–QSI ( ) –provided incredible help. We were in constant communication and they worked tirelessly on their end to ensure that things would work out.

Some additional information for what to do if you lose your passport (when I was recording I was a bit distracted so now that I’m more level-headed, I can articulate the steps a bit clearer).
1. Retrace your steps! Try to find it because once you go down the path of discarding/invalidating/reporting it lost, you can no longer use the previous passport even if eventually found.
2. Call your Consulate/Embassy and report the missing passport.
3. File a police report.
4. Go to your local Consulate/Embassy and apply for an emergency passport. It can be issued quickly (usually same day) and will require a payment according to the listed fees for your passport services.
5. Relax! Enjoy what’s left of your vacation.
6. Reflect and think about your systems of tracking such precious documents. Be careful.
