(Im)permanence : Famagusta White Nights Residency Programme

(Im)permanence: Famagusta White Nights is an artistic residency program that took place on October 5-13, 2018 in the Walled City of Famagusta, Cyprus.

During the residency, five artists under the guidance of two curators created digital and video art. The final outcomes of the programme were presented in two site-specific installations, where the works were projected within the walled city of Famagusta.

The video chronicles the eight day programme that was kicked off with a series of talks by invited academics, curators, specialists sharing their experiences of working with the city. In this short clip we join the artists’ journey “to connect the physical city and the social city”, culminating in the final showing of site-specific installations on October 13, 2018.

The project is organised by EMAA and Rooftop Theatre Group, and supported by the Stelios Foundation Bi-Communal Awards, 2017.

The showing event was also supported by and took place as part of the Open Door Festival in Famagusta, organised by Civic Space.

Participating artists: Adi Atassi, Aliki Kirmitis, Dicle Özlüses, Olgu Tosun, Vasilis Vasiliou.

Creative directors: Ellada Evangelou and Gülgün Kayim.
