After participating in the mercury assessment project “Minamata Initial Assessment in the Caribbean”, the Government of Saint Lucia has decided to become Party to the Minamata Convention. <\/p>\n

The Minamata Convention on Mercury is a global treaty designed to protect human health and the environment from the toxic chemical element, mercury. <\/p>\n

This project was funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by the UN-Environment and executed by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean).<\/p>\n
