The H-2B nonimmigrant program allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ nonimmigrants to perform non-agricultural labor or services in the United States. To be eligible, employment should be of a temporary nature for a specific period of time such as a seasonal need, a one-time occurrence, a peak load need, or an intermittent need. For the H-2B program, the employer has to complete wage confirmation requirements with the Department of Labor and verify that there is a lack of able, willing, qualified, and able U.S. workers to perform the temporary work and that employment will not have a negative impact on the wages and working conditions of similarly employed U.S. workers.<\/p>\n
