Just over a year ago, the Pacific Island of Nauru was hit by a huge cyclone. Only eleven people died and the country was congratulated on its level of disaster preparedness. <\/p>\n

But it’s recovery since has been less impressive. Despite tens of millions of dollars of international aid, much of the country’s infrastructure is still in ruins. Schools and hospitals are still rubble. <\/p>\n

Andrew Thomas has been back to the archipelago to see what’s gone wrong and why the money hasn’t been spent where it’s most needed. <\/p>\n
