Salah Ghanem, a disabled refugee, who has been granted Cypriot citizenship after a long and painful struggle, speaks out about institutional discrimination against him and his family, both as a recognized refugees and as a naturalized Cypriot citizens. According to the law, recognized refugees should have equal rights to Cypriot and European citizens and naturalized citizens should be treated the same as any other citizen. Salah explains that institutions do not respect such provisions on equality and describes the reality of institutional discrimination.
