The Resident British High Commissioner Steve McCready has joined a group of British students in
encouraging frank and open discussions about mental health. The hope is that this will help
challenge some of the mental health stigma and can dispel misconceptions about mental health
problems and the people who experience them. Alex Bousquet has that story
Founder of the Caribbean Collective: a group of British Psychology Students currently on Island
holding open discussions about mental Health in communities island wide -Harry Spear says, the
group was formed because Mental Health in the UK is not much spoken about. Addressing that
situation can change the misconceptions and the stigma attached to mental health and the people
who are experiencing it.
The Resident British High Commissioner here in St. Lucia joined the British students in tackling what
he says is quite an important issue which presents a challenge both in the Caribbean as well as the
UK.
The Resident British High Commissioner joined the students on the Constitution Park on Friday.
