Hello, Welcome to US Immigration Updates.
This weekly video from the I-485 or Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status processing timelines series is part of our ongoing efforts to give you the most recent information on your US immigration journey. The processing timings in this video are based on recently updated U S C I S tools. As you know, U S C I S processes I-485 petitions at its California, Nebraska, Texas, and Vermont service centers and each state’s local field offices. United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (U S C I S) Form I-485 is for people who are living in the U.S. and want to apply for lawful permanent residence (a “green card”). U S C I S refers to this process as “Adjustment of Status.” If U S C I S approves your Form I-485, you can become a legal permanent resident. This immigration status allows you to permanently live and work in the U.S. After you have a green card for three or five years, you can apply for naturalization, which means that you can become a U.S. citizen. When you submit Form I-485, you are providing USCIS with basic identifying information and documentation of your legal grounds for applying for a green card In this video, we will examine the processing timelines or wait times for I-485 petitions submitted at U S C IS service centers on November 10, 2022.
