We are back with another episode of Medical Staff Voice LIVE, featuring Dr. Stan Frochtzwajg Community Memorial Health System’s Chief Medical Officer. In this week’s episode, we sit down with Dr. Maziar Goshtasbi, who specializes in Geriatric Medicine with Midtown Medical Group’s Pirie Road location in Ojai.
Originally from the historical city of Shiraz, Iran, Dr. Goshtasbi moved to the U.S. at 14 years old. He earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in the Caribbean, then completed his residency in family medicine at RWJ University Hospital Somerset, before he spent a year at Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey for his geriatrics fellowship.
Dr. Goshtasbi moved to Ventura to be near family and start his career in geriatrics with Community Memorial Health System’s Midtown Medical Group. Geriatricians are primary care doctors who have additional training in treating older adults, especially those 65 and up. Although most of his patients are older, Dr. Goshtasbi says he would like to see patients of all ages.
Outside of work, Dr. Goshtasbi spends time outdoors, visiting with family, and playing the violin!
