As part of the emerging environmental-based arts, Dar Si Hmad for Development, Education and Culture (NGO), operates the biggest fog harvesting site in the world which supplies villagers with clean drinking water, organized an artistic residency from august 29th to september 10th, 2019. The residency was titled Rhizomes Arts, and brought together interdisciplinary creatives to produce an artistic creation, with both sonorous and visual elements. This was then presented in a show titled “Brouill-Art, le son de passage.” The principle purpose of this event was to raise awareness about the environmental challenges in the arid southwest region of Morocco, in addition to valorising the ecosystem of the Argan tree, and celebrating the beauty and hardship of the environment that Amazigh people live in.
