EVERYTHING that you need to know on what to pack when coming to the Caribbean for Medical School! This is a complete list that Alahna and I, as well as other students HIGHLY SUGGEST to bring to the island! ✨

Living in Nevis and going to the Medical University of the Americas is completely different than living in Canada or the United States. Firstly, there is NO Starbucks, Walmart, drug stores, Sephora, no electronic stores, etc.

So you basically need to bring all your essentials that you would need. You are able to buy some essentials like toilet paper, some drugstore skincare, cleaning supplies and they do have some brand of food that we love! But it’s best to come prepared.

You also need to adjust to the island life as well such as bringing essentials that are good for the warm climate if you are from the North like me and 95% of your closet is hoodies and crew necks 😭

CLOTHING:
Clothing’s (shirts, sweaters, pants, shoes)
Beach Essentials: Beach Towels, swim suit, flip flops, sunscreen, sunglasses
Gym clothes/running shoes

BATHROOM & BEDDING:
Toiletry: toothbrush, toothpaste, mouth wash, soaps, baby wipes, body wash, toothbrush caps (so bugs don’t get onto your toothbrush!)
GIRLS: pads, tampons (all your favourite brands you like to use)
