New Delhi, Aug 09 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar on Thursday cleared the air on Mehul Choksi issue. He said that Antigua and Barbuda are examining India’s extradition request for Mehul Choksi. “We have submitted to the ministry of foreign affairs of Antigua and Barbuda our request for extradition on 3rd August. They (Antigua and Barbuda) are examining the request so it is little bit premature to react at this stage,” Raveesh Kumar said. The companies of Mehul Choksi too credit from overseas branches of Indian banks. They used fraudulent Punjab National Bank (PNB) guarantees given through letters of undertaking (LoUs) and letters of credit issued by the PNB’s Brady House branch. The credit was not repaid, bringing liability on the state-run bank.
