Based in Brooklyn, Urban Bush Women utilize text, music, and movement to illuminate the cultural and spiritual traditions of the African Diaspora. As part of their 2010 residency in South America, the company learned traditional Venezuelan dance in Caracas, performed in 19th century theaters in Colombia, and collaborated with local dance companies and artists in Sao Paolo.
