On March 9th an English journalist sent out a tweet asking Greek citizens to share stories about them helping each other and their adversities. The initiative was followed by several published articles.
Two artists (Dash and Dem), read those articles and had the inspiration for a social art project: “Reaching Re-Birth”.
This project culminated in an installation at Athens’ biennale greece, among Europe’s most important artistic events. The project has the goal to explore how coaching became more and more relevant respect to citizenship practices and individual survival in a transitional society.
The project culminated in a multi-screen video installation at the 4th Athens Biennale exhibition space, with monitors displaying top coach professionals as talking heads, offering self management techniques to Greek citizens. In one of these videos, Giovanna D’Alessio, Founder and CEO of Asterys and Past President of the International Coach Federation, explores fear and shares a practice (the 4S Practice, illustrated in her new book “Personal Mastery” that will be soon be published in its English version) to utilise any disturbing situation in life as an opportunity to take ownership and to shift from being a victim to master one’s life.
