The Society for Musicology in Ireland awarded Professor Jim Samson the 2018 IRC–Harrison Medal on Thursday, 28 March at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

After the presentation of the medal, Professor Samson delivered the lecture “Who Needs a Passport? Music in South East Europe”.
