A take on neo-colonial attitudes in today’s Dominican Republic. I am a new expat in the DR and am noticing lots of interesting patterns. Some are very disturbing, even though they are centuries old. Maybe because they still exist after all this time. Still, not everyone is bad, not everyone is good. One thing is for sure: life is more complicated than it seems on this island.
