Basic Flamenco Dance Tutorial for Beginners – Lower & Upper Body Movement with Turns Step by Step with Lena Jacome

Technically, this is a Flamenco Dance Tutorial Bulerías por Soleá Marcaje Step taught in bare feet.

This choreographic flamenco marcaje section is part of a work-in-progress solo I’m putting together and documenting along the way. I’m a flamenco dancer in Arizona and one of my favorite parts of the day is sharing my choreographic ideas with you! Dance heals the body and provides joy to the heart.

Included in this dance tutorial (demonstrated in bare feet – No flamenco shoes required) is a breakdown of the lower and upper body. This tutorial can be helpful for the advanced dancer and the beginner. I always say, start with the foundational steps and then slowly add your layers, such as the body facings, shape of the arms, hips, shoulders, head facings and floreada. There’s always something to learn. It is my joy to be part of your dance journey.

This is a 3 part series that incorporates castanets. Videos coming soon!
