The federal government stated that Australians can now apply for international proof of COVID-19 vaccination, leading them a step closer to secure overseas travel.
Government ministers announced recently in a joint statement that the proof will be available to Australians and Australian visa holders who have their COVID-19 vaccinations registered on the Australian Immunisation Register.
It will improve “a person’s ability to travel safely and with confidence,” the statement declared.
The proof features a QR code, scannable by border authorities to confirm your vaccination status and can be downloaded digitally or in printed form.
It’s also compatible with COVID-19 travel apps like the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Pass.
The proof will permit fully vaccinated Australians to leave Australia and fly internationally compatible with the National Plan to transition Australia’s COVID-19 Response.
