“Art as Post-script,” presented by The Philippine Contemporary Art Network (PCAN) and the UP Vargas Museum, is a talk by Cristina Juan on the life and art of Elisa Y. Tan, a relatively unknown Filipino-Chinese artist who engaged with conceptualism and was a figure in the art scenes in New York and Paris from the ‘70s through the ‘90s. Tan’s last exhibition was in Paris in 1995. She died in 2022. This talk hopes to re-introduce her work to the public and create a discursive, aesthetic space for her in the roster of Philippine women artists of her time. The talk is moderated by Patrick Flores, Director, Philippine Contemporary Art Network and Curator, UP Vargas Museum.
