The Guyana Passport – Ranking and Placement

The Guyanese passport currently ranks in 61st place according to the Guide Passport Ranking Index. It provides visa-free access to 87 countries. This grants it an overall medium mobility score. Guyanese passport holders have visa-free access and visas on arrival to countries such as Singapore, Ireland, Russia, Qatar and South Korea. This limits instant travel opportunities to selected destinations. Guyanese passport holders require a visa to enter about 141 destinations. Some countries where a visa is required are the entire European Union, the United States and Australia.

The Guyana passport ranking relative to other global passports is calculated by adding up the number of countries that allow Guyana passport holders to enter without a visa (i.e. visa-free countries) and those that allow Guyana passport holders to enter by obtaining a visa on arrival (i.e. visa-on-arrival countries) or electronic travel authorization (eTA). There are currently a total of 52 Guyana passport visa-free countries, 35 Guyana visa-on-arrival countries, and 1 eTA destination.

Altogether, Guyana passport holders can enter a total of 87 destinations—either without a visa, through a visa on arrival, or via an eTA. As a result, the Guyana passport ranks 61 in the world.

Separate from these Guyana visa-free countries and visa-on-arrival countries, there are 141 additional destinations which Guyana passport holders either need a physical visa to enter or an eVisa (i.e. visa required countries).
