Have you ever eaten at your favorite restaurant, only to realize there’s a new executive chef who’s ruining all the recipes? In this case, a group of restaurant entrepreneurs vowed to put an end to this, with a restaurant consulting agency.
They wanted to bring in amazing executive chefs from overseas to advise local restaurants on their efficiency and recipes. We decided on an E-2 Treaty Investor visa, which raised another problem; they were already citizens of the U.S., not nationals from an E-2 Treaty country! After a slew of contracts, promissory notes, and assurances, the entrepreneurs loaned the start-up capital to the executive chefs, who were able to enter and work in the U.S. as E-2 investors.
