In today’s video, we will be taking a look at the recently proposed rule by the Department of Homeland Security.
As a new addition to its regulatory agenda, the Department of Homeland Security plans to release a proposed rule to improve processing times of Form I-485, ‘Adjustment of Status’ applications, which are submitted by those in the US, such as H-1B workers who are shifting to a green card. A cutback in processing time will be of great help to the Indians. Presently, this proposed draft rule is scheduled for publication in May 2023.
The US plans to make advancements to the H-1B visa program as part of its regulatory agenda for 2023 which could benefit Indian candidates. It suggests introducing changes that will make it effortless for startups to employ foreign workers on an H-1B non-immigrant visa as well as modify specific other regulations which will restructure the process and lessen the chances of fraud or exploitation in the H-1B registration system.
