Situated in the south of Portugal the Algarve is a fantastically popular holiday region for the Portuguese, expats, and foreign tourists. A lot of this is due to the 200 km of golden sandy beaches and crystal clear waters. But there is so much more to it than that.

The Algarve has something for everyone. Faro, the principal city, has all the attractions of the coast, plus a charming historic centre with Iberian and Moorish architecture. You can get back to nature up in the mountains; lose yourself in the past in cities like Silves and Lagos; absorb the cosmopolitan atmospheres of Portimão and Albufeira; recharge your batteries at spas and natural thermal baths; and — if you still have the energy — play a round or two at one of the many world famous golf courses.

The Mediterranean climate is ideal all year round and you are sure to be made welcome wherever you go.
