Unfortunately, we can’t choose the country we’re born into. Once you’re born, you are automatically a legal citizen of that country. While you can live in other countries without being a citizen, citizenship does provide certain privileges and rights. For example, voting, Medicare, and the ability to run for the position of an elected official are just a few of the benefits of being a citizen. Thankfully, however, you don’t even need to be a citizen in order to reside in a different country.
While most people are content to remain citizens in the country they were born into, not everyone is satisfied with their life. Some countries are run by oppressive, corrupt governments that are terrifying and unsafe to live under. In extreme cases like these, it only makes sense to want to leave your home country.
Others may want to immigrate because they have friends or family in a different country, and would like to spend time closer to their loved ones.
Other times, people simply fall in love with a different country. Spending a vacation abroad can open your eyes to thousands of new experiences. Some people can spend just a week in a different country and then realize they want to live there for the rest of their lives!
There are countless other reasons to immigrate to a new country, such as opportunities for new employment, pursuing a higher education, and even marriage. Whatever the reason, however, immigrating isn’t exactly a piece of cake. Some countries are incredibly difficult to move to.
For example, Austria has one of the longest immigration processes in the world! Not only is it hard to even stay in Austria for an extended period of time, but you have to live in Austria for at least ten years before being granted citizenship! Other countries that are notorious for being difficult to immigrate to include the United States, Japan, Switzerland, and Germany. If you have a burning desire to live in any of these countries, you have a long and winding road ahead of you.
Thankfully, not every country is so difficult to move to! In today’s video, we’re going to take a look at the 10 easiest countries to immigrate to. Make sure you stick around, because we’re also going to reveal one beautiful South American country that people all over the world are dying to get to!
