Saint Kitts and Nevis, the smallest independent nation in the western hemisphere, was one of the first caribbean countries to ratify to the Minamata Convention on Mercury.
Through the project “Minamata Initial Assessment in the Caribbean”, SKN Bureau of Standards assessed their national mercury situation to better understand their priorities in meeting the obligations of the Convention.
This video highlights the outcome of the mercury situation in Saint Kitts and Nevis and was developed by Media Mill Ltd.
This project was funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), implemented by the UN-Environment and executed by the Basel Convention Regional Centre for the Caribbean (BCRC-Caribbean).
