Malta is a small island nation in the Mediterranean Sea. The country is a European Union member. The island is highly secure and has some of Europe’s warmest temperatures. The Malta Permanent Residence Programme (MPRP) offers a five-year resident permit extended indefinitely if the requirements are met. The Malta Residence Visa Programme will be phased out in 2021. (MRVP). It takes a few months to complete the application process. After five years, citizenship can be petitioned, although it requires typically ten to fifteen years of residency to be accepted. The Malta RVP allows the applicant to own real estate in Malta and make a non-refundable donation to the State Fund of at least EUR 30,000. The property must be held for the duration of the residence permit’s validity.
Malta’s residency provides a Schengen visa, and its citizenship will enable freedom of movement in the EU. Malta has one of the best passports in the world.
