Our Group Accountability Call with guest, Dr. LeRoy Horton, 1st Year Perio Resident at OHSU School of Dentistry, Board Certified Diplomate with the International Congress of Oral Implantology, Affiliate Instructor University or Washington School of Dentistry, and Clinical Director

Dr. Horton was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He received a degree in biology from Pacific Lutheran University, and later a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington. For 13 years as a partner in the Affordable Dental Care network, Dr. Horton focuses on advanced surgical procedures including but not limited to: IV sedation, dental implants, implant dentures, wisdom teeth, bone grafts, sinus lifts and minor reconstructions. He has devoted many hours to advancing his education and earned his board certification in implants through the International Congress of Oral Implantology.

If this was not enough, Dr. Horton was recently accepted as a surgical resident at the Oregon Health Sciences University Graduate Periodontics program where he is earning a 3 year advanced periodontics certificate and a master’s degree. Not only is he a student, but he holds national recognition as a continuing education instructor by AGD/PACE.

As a father of 3, Dr. Horton balances implant practice, family life, and staying very physically active. His hobbies include playing the guitar, reading, and politics. Interests in sports go back to his childhood where he was an accomplished martial artist, a high school and collegiate track athlete, and an amateur fighter competing in Muay Thai & kickboxing matches and submission wrestling tournaments. As of the last 4 years Dr. Horton has become an avid Spartan racer competing in 4-5 adventure races a year.

Dr. Horton has always had a great passion for outreach. Through participation and leadership, he received numerous awards while in dental school for his devotion to the underserved communities of the Mt. Vernon farm camps and poor communities in Longview, WA. Recently he was presented with the Heart of a Social Worker Award from the Veterans Administration for his work with combat veterans of foreign wars. He also helped found the Partners in Diversity Endowed Scholarship. Dr. Horton currently holds a position as an Affiliate Instructor at the University of Washington School of Dentistry’s emergency dental clinic where he will be able to pass on his knowledge to eager young dental students.
