All international leagues have restrictions for foreign players. Your nationality is one of the most important factors in getting a good contract. In the first step I will explain the eight different national standards and groupings:
1. The general foreign citizenship, 2. the EU citizenship with Bosman A and 3. Bosman B variation, 4. the Asian-, 5. Oceania Citizenship, 6. Local Player rules, 7. the Cotonou status and 8. Ancestry and marriage. In the second step I will show you how many players of each group are allowed per league, and that no two leagues are alike.
