HOW TO SWEAR (JURY) YOUR SEPHARDIC SPANISH CITIZENSHIP WHEN IT IS APPROVED
When you are granted (approved) in your Spanish Sephardic Citizenship, both by Law 12/2015 and by the other modalities, you usually ask to us about the procedures and legal steps that you must follow in this final phase after the concession.
Well, you will see, first, the Ministry of Justice has to notify the favorable resolution of the concession, which now is always electronically, almost always online, and it is done directly by the Consulate or the Ministry of Justice.
Once the Resolution is notified, there is a period of one year to swear nationality in the Civil Registry of your city of residence or, if you reside outside of Spain, which is almost always, the Consular Civil Registry. It is also posible to swear in a public notary, if you live legally in Spain.
When you go to swear Spanish nationality, a Spanish birth certificate will be issued on the same day or in a short time, with your name and two Spanish surnames and other information, and immediately afterwards, the Spanish passport can be issued.
The latter is done at the Consulate when you reside outside of Spain, or at a National Police Station specialized in ID and passport, if you live in Spain, where they also issue you the Spanish National Identity Document.
