US EB-5 Green Card Visa – Regional Center Program is back with a new investment amount of USD 800,000/-
Welcome to the new episode of Ajay Sharma Show, where I share my insights on the latest developments in the immigration and global mobility field. This video talks about the recent re-authorization of the Regional Center Program under the EB-5 Visa to the USA.
Under the US EB-5, Visa is a Green Card investor program. One can invest either in Regional Center Projects based in a targeted employment area (TEA) or make a direct investment in a US business or project. Under the Regional Center program, the money is invested in the project planned by the Center. A minimum of ten jobs must be created against each EB-5 investment. Under the Regional Center Program, even the indirect jobs can be considered, and hence meeting the eligibility criteria becomes easier for the applicant. In the case of the Direct EB-5 Investment, the project must create these ten direct jobs.
Earlier, the investment amount was USD 500,000 in the Regional Center program, but with the new changes, the amount increased to USD 800,000 (Around INR 6 Crore). The investment can be over USD 1 Million if the project is not within the targeted employment area.
US EB-5 Visa program also allows the other US Visa holders, such as H-1B Visa, L1 Visa, etc., to switch to EB-5 Visa. If you are a US Visa holder stuck in the green card application long queue, you can simply change your visa to EB-5 Visa, meet the eligibility requirements and attain the US Green Card.
