More about our Feature Speaker: Dr. Rondell Graham

Dr. Graham graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MB.BS) Degree from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus after which he completed his residency in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology at Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education. He then went on to complete fellowships in Molecular Genetic Pathology, Surgical Pathology and Gastrointestinal & Liver Pathology at the same institution where he currently serves as Associate Professor of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.
Dr. Graham’s research interests include the molecular genetics of liver tumors and respective biomarkers for diagnosis, treatment and classification. Dr. Graham, along with a team of investigators, uses various approaches to evaluate and understand liver tumours such as fibrolamellar carcinomas. His work is geared to what we all hope for, improved diagnosis and clinical outcomes of patients affected by liver tumors.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Dr De Noon graduated with an M.D. from St George’s University, Grenada (magna cum laude) after which she worked as a Senior House Officer in the Pathology Department of the San Fernando General Hospital for 2 years before migrating to the UK. In 2017 she entered the UK Histopathology Specialty Trainee Programme, during which she undertook a 6 month fellowship in soft tissue and bone pathology.
Dr De Noon then entered into the clinical academic route with a CRUK-funded research project at the UCL Cancer Institute in London. She is currently a clinical research fellow and PhD candidate in the Flanagan Lab at the UCL Cancer Institute, studying the genomics of osteosarcoma. Her additional roles include a Trainee Subcommittee Member of the Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland.

Vision
The vision of The Pathology Club of UWI is to foster Caribbean medical student’s interest in pathology and laboratory medicine and provide support to those aspiring to specialize in pathology and laboratory medicine through mentorship, shadowing and research opportunities across the Medical Faculties of the St. Augustine, Mona and Cave Hill campuses.
