New USCIS Good Policies : Green Card Rule Relaxed for Some Immigrants, No Backlogs Delay
The Joe Biden administration will grant deferred action in favor of minors who are under Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS).

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) will give this benefit to young people who are waiting for their “Green Card”, but have not received the visa due to existing delays.

Deferred action will prevent them from being deported for not having the necessary documents to prove a regular stay in the US.

“Due to continued visa number unavailability, the protection that Congress intended to grant SIJS through adjustment of status is often delayed for years, leaving this population especially vulnerable and in limbo,” indicates a statement from the agency.

The measure will also allow them to work formally in the country, according to the public policy update that the aforementioned agency released last Monday, to strengthen the SIJS program, focused on immigrant children and youth who have been abused, abandoned or neglected. .
