The St.Kitts-Nevis United Opposition Movement of the PAM, PLP and CCM along with other anti-government groups have been organising a series of demonstrations to force Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas to bring to the parliament a long filed Motion of No Confidence for debate. The motion was filed since December 2012 and now 6 months later it has yet to be brought to the parliament for debate. This long delay has caused much tensions and frustration among the citizens of the country. These tensions are approching boiling point as was exhibhited here in footage of a clash between protesters and the riot police. The footage also includes hundreds of demonstrators not only facing off with the riot police at the demonstration but also at the Police Headquarters where one of the leaders of the demonstration Lawyer Lindsay Grant was taken after being arrested minutes earlier at the demonstration. Hundreds converged on the Police HEADQUARTERS in the heart of Basseterre demanding his release. Despite heavy rainfall and significant police presence the protesters remained until the Grant was released hours later.
