Dozens of opposition supporters rallied outside the President of Armenia’s residency in Yerevan on Saturday.

Footage shows police cordons close to the presidential residency where the President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan met with country’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Protesters were chanting “Nikol is a traitor” as police pushed them away from the service entrance of the presidential residence on Zarobyan street.

Protesters had gathered near the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, after the opposition called protesters to intervene in Pashinyan’s work visit there, through their Facebook page.

On Wednesday, Armenian President Armen Sargsyan’s press office announced a meeting for Saturday between the Prime Minister, the leaders of the parliamentary factions and representatives of the ‘Movement for the Salvation of the Motherland.’ The opposition leaders are yet to respond to the invitation.

Pashinyan protests originally began in November last year after he signed the Russian-brokered deal to end fighting between Azerbaijan and Armenian forces over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh. Under the terms of the trilateral agreement, a number of Nagorno-Karabakh districts have been handed over to Azerbaijan.
