A chronicle of the dream–like time spent in an artist residency on the Tuscan hills, ruminating on an inwards journey among olive groves, vineyards and ghosts.
In September 2020, artist Marina Esmeraldo and writer and musician James Connor Vincent were invited to be artists–in–residence at the Villa Lena Foundation in Tuscany, a 19th century villa nestled between Florence and Pisa.
Featuring excerpts from Esmeraldo’s journal during the residency and Vincent’s musical explorations—who composes and performs under the alias Orange Peel—the film is a portrayal of the fragmented nature of the creative process and of the languid time spent in this ad hoc paradise.
