The basic rule when comes to visa’s to Botswana is that visitors from Commonwealth countries do NOT require a visa before travelling to Botswana. However, citizens of Ghana, Nigeria, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka DO require a visa to Botswana.

Visa Categories
Botswana has two visa categories which different nationalities fall under. These are listed below:
Non-Visa Category: No visa is required. No action or fee needed. Stamp is for 30 days, which can be extended.

Passport Requirement
All travellers to Botswana will need:
• Passports must be valid for at least six months.
• Sufficient funds for your stay
• At least 2 blank passport pages
• Round-trip or onward ticket if flying into Botswana
Visa-Category: Visa is required and obtained on arrival.
Length of stay – All nationalities can stay for a maximum of 90 days in any 12 month period for holiday purposes, without a permit.

Visa Types*
A Single Entry visa allows you to enter Botswana one time. Once you have used it for an entry and exit, you cannot use it again. Valid for 1 month.
A Multiple Entry visa allows you to enter Botswana more than once. Valid for up to 3 months.
*These visas are issued to Visa Category nationals at the port of entry.

Nationals who require a visa to Botswana will need to pay for it at the time of their arrival, and the fees vary with each visa type. Payment can be made in foreign currency – United States Dollar, Pound Sterling, Euro and South African Rand. Contact your nearest embassy, high commission or consulate for more information.
1. Single entry visa – 300 Pula or US$30 per person
2. Multiple entry visa – 500 Pula or US$50 per person
A transit visa cost the same as above.
