Steps on How to Apply Dual Citizenship:

1. Call directly the office or IM them in fb for inquiries and instructions.
2. As per instructions on the phone, send ALL the General Requirements via email.
3. Once they verified all the documents, they will advice you to send them by courier to the Embassy.
In order to qualify as Oath taker for the upcoming Outreach in Malta, Documents need to send by courier to PE Rome.
DO NOT PAY the application yet, the Embassy will inform you on when and how to pay the Dual application.
4. Once the PE Rome received your documents and verified, they will reach out to you and advice for the payment (will give you their Bank details).
5. Pay the application (either bank to bank or any remittances/online)
6. When the Payment received, they will send an email for your confirmed appointment during their outreach.
7. On the day of your schedule, Look for person who sent you the appointment. She will then advice you to sign and fill up some documents
8. Then, guide you to the Oath taking section
9. After oath taking, will ask you to go to cashier to pay for a new passport.
You will be instructed to have a new Passport even though your passport is still new (in my case just newly renewed – 6 months ago)
As they said, you took an Oath for being Maltese citizen. Therefore, new Philippines passport required/must be made.
10. Finally, queue for passport photo taking. Personnel may ask you why, as you still have new passport,
You may respond due to Dual Citizenship, they probably put as a remarks.
