US Visa Processing Fee Increase in 2022 @ US Consulates.
Department of State Published a new rule today and proposed a sharp fee increase for US Visa processing at Embassies and Consulates in 2022.
Non Immigrant non petition based visa fee will increase to $245 from $160. which will be a $85 or 53% increase.
Non Immigrant petition based visa fee, for H, L, O, P, Q and R visas will increase to $310 from $190. which will be a $120 or 63% increase.
Non Immigrant visa fee, for E Visa will increase to $485 from $205. which will be a $280 or 137% increase.
Border crossing card will increase to $245 from $160. which will be a $85 or 53% increase.
Waiver of I.N.A 212 e, for 2-year home residence requirement will increase to $510 from $120. which will be a $390 or 325% increase.
It is still unclear, if this fee increase will increase the staffing and operating capacity of consulates, to reduce the visa backlogs.
But there is some good News for Immigrant Visa applications, like family based, employment based or diversity visa applicants. There is no change in Visa Processing fee at US Embassies and Consulates for Immigrant petitions, like i-130 Family and relative Visa processing fee, immediate relative adoption cases i-600 or i-800 visa processing fee. Employment based visa processing fee for i-140 or i-526 petitions, or for Diversity Visa lottery processing Fee.
B1, B2 Rule changes, Visa Backlog at embassy, Interview Waivers.
Department of Homeland Security’s, US Citizenship and Immigration services is adding 20000 new Visa’s for Fiscal Year 2022. These will be set aside on or before March 31, 2022.
Department of Homeland Security also plans to adjust fees that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services charges for various visa’s, Green card and other immigration services. These new fees is to recover U.S.C.I.S operating costs.
The State Department plans to publish a final rule related to use of B1 and B2 visas.
State Department has announced the recent US Visa backlog reduction status.
