Seven people have been injured, after Dutch police opened fire during last night’s violent protests in Rotterdam over the country’s Covid restrictions.

The World Health Organization has added its voice to the growing alarm over the surging infections across Europe, forcing more countries into full or partial lockdowns.

While Russia has reported a record number of deaths for the second day running.
