From a legal stand point this doesn’t really make much sense because if that’s not a sole proprietorship but a legally registered limited company, then it’s an independent party. It then cannot matter where share holders or the CEO reside. It’s like saying that the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella from India makes Stripe unavailable for the entire company of Microsoft as soon as he gets any company shares. You see the logical loophole here? I asked our legal department in Tribal Mastermind and they said that, although it’s an odd loophole, the financial institution is technically allowed to set requirements like this.
