
#globalcitizenship #GENE #globaleducation #globaljustice #Europe Liam Wegimont has been involved in in education for social change, local and global, in formal and non-formal education, for over 30 years – as teacher, youth worker, teacher-educator, school principal, curriculum developer, lecturer, evaluator, and speaker. Currently, Liam is the Executive Director of GENE – Global Education Network Europe – the European network Ministries and Agencies with national responsibility for Global Education in European countries. He is currently on secondment to GENE from the Irish Department of Education from his position as Principal of Mount Temple Comprehensive School – a school increasingly devoted to education for sustainable development and global learning. Liam co-founded GENE (www.gene.eu) and the European Global Education Peer Review process, and has worked with Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs across Europe, in national policy, strategy support for and evaluation of Global Education. More recently co-founded ANGEL – the Academic Network on Global Education Learning. (www.angel-network.net). He is a member of the editorial Board of the International Journal of Development Education and Global Learning Institute of Education, UCL, London; and of Sinergias ED, CEAUP, Oporto; and has been visiting lecturer in teacher education and global learning at Fredrich-Alexander University, Erlangen-Nurnberg and Trinity College, Dublin.
