Originally from Toronto, Matthew Rubacha, MD SGU ’14, was pleased to have secured an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Toronto. He joined the more than 1,000 Canadians have graduated from St. George’s University School of Medicine. Since SGU opened its doors in 1977, its Canadian medical students have excelled on their step exams, with a 99 percent pass rate for those who sat the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating Examination (MCCEE) from 2009 to 2013, and a 98 percent pass rate on the United States Medical Licensing Examination for first-time test takers in 2014.
