
The Montenegro government announced today, August 10, 2010, that it has designed an Economic Citizenship Program designed to attract successful business people the small Balkan country. With an investment of 500,000 Euro paid to the state budget, business people are offered citizenship and benefits such as lower taxes and costs for their companies.
Montenegro, which became independent in 2006 after splitting from Serbia, has a population of 600,000 people. Most of the country’s foreign investors are Russian, and they are currently seeking membership in the European Union.
