When School’s Not Working
Every Monday at 8:00 PM ET, our team of career educators hosts a live webcast to discuss actionable solutions to help students pursue the education they deserve. We showcase families who have listened to their children and found ways to support their child’s development when school clearly hasn’t worked.
We share a commitment to excellence in education, the happiness and well-being of children and families, and the belief that schooling is not working for many millions of young people.
Every child is unique with a special genius, that sometimes just has to be discovered and nurtured. We help parents explore healthier, more positive alternatives for children who are not flourishing in their current educational environment.
In many cases when a child receives a diagnosis for a learning disability, an attention disorder, or a mental health issue such as anxiety or depression, schooling may be the problem – not the child.

Matt Barnes – Co-Founder, The Education Game →
Matt has an alert for parents: “School Is Not Working.”
For 20 years, Matt has studied the entire disjointed school system — pre-k thru university — through his service on nine educational boards, running an education reform nonprofit, and especially through his educational coaching with thousands of parents. Few students are prepared for the realities of the 21st century but his work helps parents become their child’s “Head Coach.”
Matt’s kids are his best testimony. Their education included public, private, hybrid, virtual, micro, and homeschool structures and produced self-directed learners who are ready for the 21st Century. One is a valedictorian in his local public school, another started attending college at 15, and the other is starting a social-business at 14. Life apart from traditional school is not as hard as one might think… but it’s definitely worth it!
