​The Spanish Foreign Minister, Arancha Gonzalez Laya, has downplayed suggestions that her government is considering fully including Ceuta and Melilla in Europe’s passport-free Schengen area.

It followed suggestions made by a Spanish senator in a live television interview, during which he identified Schengen as a solution to end the migrant crisis.
