This Finnish girl has been (partially) living in India and travelling all over the country on a tourist visa for the past 4 years, even after marrying my husband who is an Indian citizen.

But this foreign girl FINALLY got her Indian spousal visa a couple of weeks ago!!! Even in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic which took the stress away of having to exit the country after the lockdown would’ve ended as my tourist visa was expiring. I was required to leave India every 90 days as a tourist…

Anyways, now I get to stay in India indefinitely on my spousal visa!! …oh but wait here’s the real kicker: India has NO proper spouse visa for the foreign husbands/wives of its own citizen!

Complicated? Let me explain my Finnish passport, the Indian tourist visa system and how it works for foreign spouses of Indian nationals.
