There are fundamental areas of disadvantage and vulnerability around us all that Dr Siobhan McDonnell from the Australian National University’s College of Asia and the Pacific has dedicated her life to researching and advocating.
As a self-proclaimed activist scholar, Dr McDonnell’s research work focuses on climate change impacts for our neighbours in the Pacific region, with a particular focus on Vanuatu. She has spent many years focusing on gendered impacts and support for vulnerable women, as well as exploring how we better service Indigenous and migrant communities.
Dr McDonnell is Lecturer in the Crawford School of Public Policy in the Resources, Environment and Development team, and a is a lawyer and an anthropologist.
