The 1954 and 1961 conventions addressing statelessness highlight that even if someone if legally defined as stateless person , i.e. someone who isn’t recognized as a national by any state under its law, they still have the right to education, employment and housing, travel documents and administrative assistance.

The 1961 convention aims to end statelessness and reduce it overtime. Statelessness is an international issue as it affects people all over the world.
